BOCHK Wealth Management Jockey Club Sprint

The sprint race put together an evenly matched group. Gold-Fun started an even money favourite, with next best Peniaphobia at 4.1. Gold-Fun was drawn in (two), with Peniaphobia out wide in eleven.

Peniaphobia and Lucky Jockey both worked early to set the pace with Not Listenen’tome settling just in behind. Gold-Fun was mid-field one off the rail and Lucky Nine settled at the rear.

While Peniaphobia kicked at the top of the turn and established a break, it was clear once Christophe Soumillon had angled Gold-Fun out, that he was going to win the race. Peniaphobia stuck on well as did Not Listenen’tome. From the back of the field, old timer Lucky Nine ran on well to be the best of the closers.

It was a dominant win for Gold-Fun and he looks the best of the locals going forward. Peniaphobia and Not Listenen’tome did some early work in going forward, and did stick to the task.
