With the big International Day fast coming up in Hong Kong, I’ll take a look at some of the horses competing and add my ‘two bobs worth’ into the mix.
Peniaphobia is one of the top home town hopes when it comes to the Hong Kong Sprint on December 13. Second in the race last year when he started favourite, connections will be wanting to go one better this time.
It’s a very even race this year, where gates and tactics will play an important role. In the final lead up, Peniaphobia ran a bold race in the BOCHK Wealth Management Jockey Cup Cup. Leading out from a wide gate, he stuck on well, but was held easily by Gold-Fun as you can see.
When it comes to dishing out advice to the likes of Tony Cruz and Jo Moreira, I’d definitely fit into the well meaning amateur category. From professional experience this category of individual can be dangerous and should probably be ignored. However that’s not going to stop me having a crack here.
There is more than one way to get a job done. Maybe Tony and Jo should have a look at the footage below. Different race, different course and class of horse I know. Just have a think about it before December 13th.
